Writing with
intention

Finding the words so you don't have to

About Me

Honest. Multifaceted. Passionate.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a writer. I believe in the power of words and the importance of phrasing. More than that, I believe that the way a message is expressed can make or break a person, brand, or business.

I have a paralegal degree from the Center for Advanced Legal Studies, and have a passion for family law. While attending school, I was employed as an accounts receivable coordinator and billing specialist where I managed multimillion dollar accounts in the energy sector. Before that, I was a telecommunications officer and 911 dispatcher.

I write family law content for attorneys whose clients are overwhelmed, confused, and in the hardest moments of their lives. I also write about Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC), a rare and aggressive form of the disease. I was diagnosed at just 30 years old and I'm still in active treatment. It has made me a more honest writer — and it's the reason I created The Big B Word, my blog supporting and offering resources for patients and their families that are navigating IBC.

The End Results Speak For Themselves

A few examples of my work, including: family law content, a personal essay, and a raw look into life with IBC.

Family Law · Legal Content

A plain-language guide for clients navigating divorce in Texas, written for the person who just got served, not the attorney who filed.

It Isn't a Fight.
It's Survival.

Personal Essay · Advocacy

On why the warrior narrative gets cancer wrong, and what it actually feels like to keep going when you're desperate not to hurt the people you love.

What Nobody Tells You About an IBC Diagnosis

IBC Awareness · Advocacy

What I wish I'd known, what the doctors didn't say, and what I want the next person to find before I did.

Legal & Family Law Content

Plain-language articles, blog posts, and web copy for attorneys and legal professionals. I translate complex legal concepts into content real people can understand and act on.

Health & Advocacy

Let me take care of the writing, so you can focus on what's important.

Content for healthcare organizations, non-profits, or patient advocacy groups that is centered around a patient's actual experience. Written for audiences who are scared, exhausted, and need someone to be honest while offering a little hope.

TED talks don't have nothing on me. When CPTSD + denial + self-medicating + avoidance = a rare, aggressive cancer, seeing the bright side of life is the only way you survive.
